Alison Elliott

Alison's story is one of overcoming injury and breaking barriers for all women in the sport.  A 1992 Old Mill graduate, Alison played varsity soccer and lacrosse, and was captain of the lacrosse team her senior year.  Sidelined by an orbital blow-out fracture at the end of her senior year (pre-goggles!), she was initially unable to play lacrosse as planned at the University of Delaware.  However, she quickly transferred to the University of North Carolina where she joined the Carolina Club Lacrosse team and also joined a small but mighty group to petition UNC for a Division 1 lacrosse team under Title IX Women’s Rights. Alison tried out and earned a coveted walk-on spot on the inaugural UNC Women’s Lacrosse team!  She and her club teammates formed a lacrosse team at Chapel Hill High School and taught local students the sport, where girls’ lacrosse was not played locally in North Carolina.  Many girls today don’t remember when most colleges didn’t have women’s lacrosse teams, and Alison is so proud to have played a part in growing the sport.  After graduating with Phi Beta Kappa honors, Alison continued on to Maryland Dental School, where she met her husband Jason and they both graduated in 2000.  She loves to give back to the sport that has given her so much! She has coached both her daughters’ rec teams and also the CCLAX 2026’s since the team was formed. Her most favorite role of all is Mom to Isabella (2026), Zephyr (2028) and Emerson (2031).
